I often hear people say they hear others raving about twitter and
Facebook but they still don't understand how it may help their
business or how to use it properly. I am going to break it down to
you so that it will be real easy for you to understand. I really like using
them both to promote my business and the businesses of my clients. It is an
easy way to create that word-of-mouth advertising that we all need to help our
businesses grow. Haven't you heard people say that everyone's on Facebook? I
see quite a few micro business owners gaining lots of exposure here. These
sites are growing by the day with millions of people on them. There is just one
thing... you are going to get out of your business what you put into it. If you keep saying you don't have time
to log on and submit your posts you are going to continue to be in the same
place you are now and that if fine if you are happy with the status of your
business right now. Okay, now here we go... Oh wait.. One more thing.. The best
part about this all is it's FREE if you do it on your own.
Twitter :
Twitter is a website which offers a social networking and micro blogging
service. Twitter enables its users to send and read messages called
tweets. Tweets are messages/posts displayed on your profile made up of up
to 140 characters.
My advice: Use Twitter to help you promote what you are working on and to drive traffic to your website
or blog. It is basically electronic word-of-mouth advertising. Make sure your posts are interesting.
Facebook:
Facebook is also a social network used to share your thoughts, likes,
dislikes, opinions, pictures, videos, and so so much more!!
My advice: If you are a business owner you need
a Facebook Fan Page. It makes it so much easier to promote your business. You
can run contests, promote new products or services, advertise specials, etc..
It is important to post everyday to keep your fans engaged.
